The ocean is a largely unexplored territory. It is as mysterious and alluring as the outer space. Its coral reefs offer a myriad of colors and wealth of biodiversity. Its abyssal trenches are virtual alien worlds. Without the benefit of sun’s energy, the ocean abyss has developed its own ecology. Volcanic vents serve as sources of energy for these deep ecosystems. Weird and fascinating creatures dominate the abyss. Some are monster looking like the
angler fish. Some are like mobile light shows such as the bioluminescent jellyfish. Most species in the ocean are yet to be discovered and identified. The ocean is as mysterious and fascinating as its unfathomable deeps. Ocean exploration is limited by our capacity to design submarines that are capable of withstanding great pressures.
For most of us, the immediately accessible wonders of the ocean are its seafood riches. Some
gourmet food restaurants thrive because of the demand for seafood. Seafood is a healthier food choice. Seafood contains all essential 72 trace minerals that can combat many diseases including malignant cancer. Seafood also contains omega3 fatty acids that are good for the heart.
Here is a simple yet healthy
seafood recipe that you can try. This is called spicy tuna steaks, which is a better alternative to meat. You will need:
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 4 cloves crushed garlic,
- 2 tbsp soy sauce,
- 1/4 tsp dry mustard,
- 3 tsp ground black pepper,
- 2 lbs tuna steaks
- 1 lemon, cut in wedges.
Use all the other ingredients to create a marinade mix. Marinate the fish and refrigerate for 1 hour. Cook the fish in a broiler for 5 minutes. Serve with lemon wedges.
