My older brother works as a seaman and it's usually aboard the ship that he gets to try his favorite
shark dishes. He learned a few recipes, which he shares with me every time he would come home for vacation.
1 1/2 pound Shark Steaks
2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
2 Tbsp Rice or Wine Vinegar
2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
2 Tbsp Oil
2 Tbsp Parsley, chopped
1 clove Garlic, pressed
freshly ground Black Pepper
Green Onions, minced
Parsley, minced
Start by cutting the shark steaks into six portions, then place them in a glass dish. Combine the soy sauce, vinegar, lemon juice, oil parsley, garlic, and black pepper and pour the marinade over the steaks and marinate for half an hour, turning at least once. Then remove the shark steaks(reserving the marinade) and broil for 4 to 5 inches from the heat - about four minutes for each side and brush with the marinade before turning, but do not overcook. Serve over steaming rice and drizzle a dash of
minced green onions and parsley atop each steak, and you can serve with tossed salad and sourdough bread. You can make a total of six servings of Marinated Shark Steaks.
