One thing that I love about this recipe is that it can be cooked easily. Moreover, this recipe is not only easy to prepare, it is also healthy and good for our body. I am very sure that your whole family will enjoy this recipe.
18 oysters - shucked and juice retained
1 medium onion - peeled and finely chopped
1lb (450g) peeled diced potato
2 oz (50g) butter
1 pint (600ml) fish stock/water/wine mixture - use the oyster juices as well
1/2 pint (300ml)milk
2 egg yolks
4 fl oz (100ml) cream
To start cooking oyster stew, you need to heat the butter in a pan. Then, put and gently sweat the onions. As much as possible, keep them from being overcooked. After that, add the potatoes and stir. After ten more minutes, put the fish stock and leave for additional ten minutes nor by the time the potatoes are soft already. Then, puree it in a blender or push through a sieve and return to the pan.
Next, you can now put the oysters. Stir in the beaten egg yolks and cream. Remove the pan from the fire while doing it. After this step, return to the heat. Stir gently until it thickens and do not let the mixture boil or it will curdle. For a more delicious meal, I will suggest that you eat this oyster stew with a hot crusty bread. With this recipe, I am sure that your family's morning will be an exciting one.

Oysters are famous for their ability to produce exquisite pearls. Pearls are the only gems that are produced by a living organism. Pearls are actually byproducts of a defensive reaction. Oysters secrete calcium compounds to enclose a foreign body that is causing irritation. This calcium compounds solidify and eventually form pearls. Aside from pearl production, oysters are also good seafood diet. Oyster is a healthy diet that is rich in vitamin A, amino acids, phosphorous, potassium, calcium, zinc, and selenium. Oysters are also low in calories. Oysters contain anti-oxidants that are good in combating cancer.

Oysters, along with clams and mussels, are the jewel makers of the sea. Most jewels are fashioned out of buried precious metals and stones in the ground, but the jewel that an oyster produces is the result of the biological process of the organism. Pearls are unique jewels; they are the only jewels formed inside a living organism. To understand how pearls are formed, we must first understand the basic anatomy of an oyster. An oyster is a bivalve or consisting of two shells that are connected by a flexible ligaments. An oyster has the following basic parts: mouth or palps, stomach, intestines, gills, anus, abductor muscle and mantle. The mantle is the organ that produces the shell by converting the calcium ions in the water into the calcium compound that consist the shell. When a foreign body enters the oyster shell, it creates an irritation. The oyster reacts by producing a coating around the foreign body. The layers of coating produce the pearl.
Oysters, on the other hand, are not only good for producing pearls. Oysters are also good source of healthy nutrients and calcium. Oyster seafood gourmet recipes are also the specialization of some high class restaurants. One oyster recipe you can prepare is the oyster bisque. To prepare this recipe you will need 1/2 cup of uncooked rice, 4 cups of bottled clam juice, 1/4 cup of butter, 2 dozen oysters, 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce, 3 tablespoons of brandy or cognac, salt and ground black pepper, and chopped parsley. Cook the rice and clam juice in a sauce pan. Add butter and blend well. Chop 16 oyster meat and add to the rice mixture. Add Tabasco sauce and cream. Heat the mixture just to the boiling point. Add whole oysters and heat. Now add the brandy or cognac and heat for one minute. Add salt and pepper and garnish the mixture with celery.

This popular dish is a winter favorite, especially in Japan, where it is called Kaki fry. Usually served with a creamy mayo dip, these deep-fried oysters make for a delicious meal or a hearty snack.
For this dish, you'll be needing oysters, bread crumbs, eggs, flour, salt and pepper for seasoning. First, shuck and clean the oysters in salted water, and dry them by patting them with paper towels. Next, sprinkle them with salt and pepper and set aside, as you'll be doing the batter next. Put the bread crumbs, eggs and flour in separate plates each, then coat the oysters in flour, then eggs and finally with bread crumbs.
Fry the oysters in hot oil (about 340 F) until they become golden brown, drain the oil and serve with shredded cabbage.

Oyster pies are fun and relatively easy to make, the only problem being the shucking of the oysters. One should always be careful doing it, with the shucking knife and all.
For this recipe, you'll need oysters, butter, mushrooms, flour, milk, seasonings and a pie crust. First, shuck the oysters, making sure to save the oyster liquor (the natural juices inside an oyster) as you'll need it later. Set them aside for now. Cook the mushrooms in butter, browning them, then stir in the flour, then slowly add the milk and oyster liquor.
When that mix comes to a boil, add in the oysters and the seasoning. Pour the whole thing into a casserole dish and cover with a pie crust, making sure to slit the top to let the steam escape. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the crust becomes browned.

This seafood dish is surrounded by much mystery and mystique due to its origin, which is open to much hearsay and revisions as many myths are. Oysters Rockefeller were supposedly a dish invented for an actual member of the famously rich Rockefeller family at Antoine's Restaurant in New Orleans.
This now-famous dish is rich in itself, even without the attachment of the Rockefeller name. It is composed of two parts, the batter or spread, and the oyster itself. The batter is a sumptuous mix of butter, spinach, seasonings and sauces that are mixed and spread over the shucked oyster and baked together, resulting in an exquisite dish that guests will dine on with gusto!

Oysters are wonderful shellfish. They not only provide us with food, but also with jewelry in the form of pearls. While it is possible to find a pearl in an edible oyster, it is not worth much commercially.
Oysters can be eaten in a number of ways. Raw, boiled, stewed, canned, pickled, roasted or fried are just some of the ways an oyster can be served. But oysters should be eaten quickly, as they have a short shelf life, like all shellfish. An exception to this are, of course, canned oysters.
Oysters are considered delicacies and are usually eaten only on special occasions. Whether they are eaten raw or cooked is a matter for the diner to decide. However they are cooked, oysters possess a mystique as a renowned aphrodisiac. True or not, it has not stopped potential Casanovas from trying to find out for themselves.

Oysters have always held a fascination for me. Maybe it's the contrast of their hard shells and their soft meat. Or maybe because of their reputations as aphrodisiacs...
For this Baked Oyster Recipe, the ingredients are:
Thirty oysters in the shell
Butter
Salt and pepper
Prepare the oysters by first washing the oyster shells thoroughly and scrubbing with a brush. Place in a baking pan with the deep shell down in a very hot oven, bake until the shells burst open, remove the upper shells, add butter, salt and pepper (to taste) to each oyster, and serve in their under shells.
Simple, yet tastefully effective.
